Once upon a time, a prince lived in a big castle in the kingdom.
Bir zamanlar, krallıkta büyük bir şatoda bir prens yaşıyordu.
He was kind and smart, but he was also very sad.
Nazik ve zekiydi, ama aynı zamanda çok üzgündü.
The prince wanted to marry a real princess, so he searched the whole countryside.

The queen looked at the wet girl carefully, because she was not sure.

"She looks like a princess, but is she a real one?" the queen thought.

The queen decided to test the girl before the next morning.

The queen went to the guest bedroom and put a small pea under the mattress.

Then she put twenty mattresses on top of the pea.

The bed was taller than the prince, so the girl needed a ladder to climb up.

"Sleep well," said the queen with a gentle smile.

The princess climbed up and tried to sleep, but she felt something hard under her.

She turned left and right all night because she was very uncomfortable.

In the morning, the queen asked: "How did you sleep last night?"

"It was terrible!" said the girl. "I could not sleep at all."

"Something was hurting my back, and now I have a big bruise," she said.

The queen smiled and said, "You are a real princess!"

"Only a real princess is more sensitive than twenty mattresses," she explained.

The prince heard everything and came running into the room.

He looked at the princess and felt happier than ever before in his life.

"Will you marry me?" the prince asked, and he was smiling.

"Yes," said the princess, "I will marry you."

They had a beautiful wedding the next week, and the whole kingdom celebrated.
Bir sonraki hafta güzel bir düğün yaptılar ve tüm krallık kutladı.
Finally, the prince found the most wonderful princess in the world.
Sonunda prens dünyanın en harika prensesini buldu.
And the little pea? They put it in a museum, so everyone could see it.
