Once upon a time, a poor miller lived in a small village.
Bir zamanlar, fakir bir değirmenci küçük bir köyde yaşıyordu.
He had a daughter, and she was the most beautiful girl in the kingdom.
Bir kızı vardı ve krallıktaki en güzel kızdı.
One day, the miller went to the king's palace because he wanted to be important.
Bir gün değirmenci, önemli biri olmak istediği için kralın sarayına gitti.
"My daughter can spin straw into gold!" he said to the king.
"Kızım samanı altına çevirebilir!" dedi krala.
The king was very surprised, so he took the girl to a big tower.
Kral çok şaşırdı, bu yüzden kızı büyük bir kuleye götürdü.
The room in the tower was bigger than the miller's whole house.

There was a lot of straw on the floor, and there was a spinning wheel in the corner.

"Spin all this straw into gold before morning," said the king, "or you will lose everything."
"Sabah olmadan tüm bu samanı altına çevir," dedi kral, "yoksa her şeyini kaybedersin."
The king left the room and locked the door.
Kral odadan çıktı ve kapıyı kilitledi.
The girl sat down next to the spinning wheel and started to cry.
Kız çıkrığın yanına oturdu ve ağlamaya başladı.
Suddenly, a strange little creature came in through the window.
Aniden, tuhaf küçük bir yaratık pencereden içeri girdi.
"Why are you crying?" asked the little creature.
"Neden ağlıyorsun?" diye sordu küçük yaratık.
"I must spin all this straw into gold, but I don't know how," she said sadly.
"Tüm bu samanı altına çevirmem lazım ama nasıl yapacağımı bilmiyorum," dedi üzgünce.
"I can do it for you, but what will you give me?" said the creature.
"Bunu senin için yapabilirim, ama bana ne vereceksin?" dedi yaratık.
The girl looked at her necklace and gave it to the creature.
Kız kolyesine baktı ve onu yaratığa verdi.
The creature sat at the wheel and spun all the straw into shining gold.
Yaratık çıkrığın başına oturdu ve tüm samanı parlak altına çevirdi.
The next morning, the king saw the gold and was very happy.
Ertesi sabah kral altını gördü ve çok mutlu oldu.
But he was greedy, so he took the girl to a bigger room with more straw.

That night, the little creature came again through the window.

The girl gave him her ring, and the creature spun all the straw into gold again.

After the second night, the king brought her to an even bigger room.

"If you spin all this straw into gold, I will marry you," said the king.

The creature came again, but the girl had nothing left to give.

"Promise me your firstborn child," said the creature, "and I will spin the straw."

The girl was scared, but she made the deal because she had no other choice.

The creature spun all the straw into gold before sunrise.

The king married the girl, and she became the new queen of the kingdom.

One year later, the queen had a baby, and the little creature came back.

The creature was singing, "My name is Rumpelstiltskin and nobody knows my secret!"

On the third day, the creature came to the queen and asked, "What is my name?"

The queen smiled and said, "Your name is Rumpelstiltskin!"

The creature became very angry, so he stamped his foot so hard that he disappeared into the ground.
Yaratık çok kızdı; ayağını o kadar sert yere vurdu ki yerin içinde kayboldu.
The queen kept her baby, and they lived happily in the kingdom forever after.
Kraliçe bebeğini yanında tuttu ve krallıkta sonsuza dek mutlu yaşadılar.
