Hansel and Gretel are living in a small, poor house.
Hansel ile Gretel küçük, yoksul bir evde yaşıyor.
Their father is kind but their stepmother is very unkind.

Today, the stepmother is taking them to the forest.
Bugün üvey anne onları ormana götürüyor.
She does not want them at home because there is no food.

Hansel is not scared — he is already making a plan.

In the morning, Hansel is putting white pebbles in his pocket.

He is dropping them on the path because he wants to find the way home.

The children are now lost and very hungry.

They see a very strange and pretty house made of candy.

An old woman opens the door and says: "Come in, dear children — I have warm food for you!"

But the old woman is a scary witch — she is not kind at all.
Ama yaşlı kadın ürkütücü bir cadı — hiç de nazik değil.
She puts Hansel in a cage because she wants to eat him.
Onu yemek istediği için Hansel'i kafese koyuyor.
Every day, she is checking if Hansel is fat enough.
Her gün Hansel'in yeterince şişmanlamış olup olmadığını kontrol ediyor.
Hansel is pretending — he holds out a thin bone, not his finger!

The witch is getting impatient and she lights the big hot oven.

The witch says: "Come here, girl — look inside the oven!"

But brave Gretel is not listening — she pushes the witch inside!

She runs to the cage and opens it because Hansel needs her help.

They find a big treasure in the witch's house and take it with them.

Now they are walking through the forest because they want to find their father.

Finally, they see their home and their father is waiting at the door.

He is very happy because his children are safe and home at last.
