The hare was the fastest animal in the whole forest.
Tavşan, tüm ormanın en hızlı hayvanıydı.
He knew this very well and he loved to boast about it.
Bunu çok iyi biliyordu ve bunun hakkında övünmeyi seviyordu.
Every morning, he ran past the other animals and laughed at them.
Her sabah diğer hayvanların yanından koşarak geçer ve onlara gülerdi.
One day, he saw the tortoise walking slowly on the path.
Bir gün yolda yavaşça yürüyen kaplumbağayı gördü.
He said, "You are the slowest creature I have ever seen!"

The tortoise stopped, looked up calmly, and said, "Then race me."

The hare was so surprised that he almost fell over.

Then he laughed loudly and said, "A race? You are joking!"
