An old carpenter named Geppetto lived alone in a small workshop.
Geppetto adında yaşlı bir marangoz, küçük bir atölyede yalnız yaşıyordu.
One evening, he carved a wooden puppet and called it Pinocchio.
Bir akşam tahta bir kukla oydu ve ona Pinokyo adını verdi.
Geppetto looked at the puppet and made a wish on a bright star.
Geppetto kuklanın yüzüne baktı ve parlak bir yıldıza dilek diledi.
"I wish Pinocchio were a real boy," he said quietly before he went to sleep.

That night, a kind Blue Fairy came into the workshop and heard his wish.

The next morning, Pinocchio opened his eyes and saw Geppetto smiling at him.

It was Geppetto — he had come to look for his son after he went missing.

"Father, I am here! I am so sorry for everything," cried Pinocchio.

Together, they made a fire inside the whale, then it sneezed them both out.

They swam to the shore and held each other tightly because they were so relieved.
