A poor miller died and left three sons with nothing.
Fakir bir değirmenci öldü ve üç oğluna hiçbir şey bırakmadı.
The oldest son took the mill, and the second son took the donkey.
En büyük oğul değirmeni aldı, ikinci oğul ise eşeği aldı.
The youngest son, Jack, only got a cat, so he was very sad.

"Don't worry," said the cat. "Give me boots and a bag, and I will help you."

One day, Puss heard that the king and his daughter were going for a ride.

He ran back to Jack and said, "Go and swim in the river before the carriage comes!"

Jack went into the cold river, but he trusted his clever cat.

When the king's carriage came, Puss shouted, "Help! My master is drowning in the river!"

The proud ogre roared again and turned into a huge lion in an instant.
Gururlu dev tekrar kükredi ve bir anda devasa bir aslana dönüştü.
"Impressive!" said Puss. "But can you become something smaller, like a mouse?"
"Etkileyici!" dedi Çizmeli Kedi. "Peki fare gibi daha küçük bir şeye dönüşebilir misin?"
The foolish ogre smiled and changed into a tiny mouse, so Puss jumped and caught him.
Aptal dev güldü ve küçücük bir fareye dönüştü, bunun üzerine Çizmeli Kedi zıplayıp onu yakaladı.
When the king's carriage arrived at the castle, Puss opened the door and bowed.

"Welcome to the castle of the Marquis of Carabas!" he said with a big smile.

The king looked at the castle and said, "This is the most beautiful castle I have ever seen!"

Before dinner, the king asked Jack to marry his daughter, and Jack happily said yes.
