The Brave Little Tailor

A young tailor named Hans lived in a small town in the kingdom.
Hans adında genç bir terzi, krallıktaki küçük bir kasabada yaşıyordu.
Every morning, he sat in his shop and sewed clothes for the people.
Her sabah dükkanında oturur ve insanlar için elbise dikerdi.
He was not rich, but he was very clever and always cheerful.
Zengin değildi, ama çok zekiydi ve her zaman neşeliydi.
One morning, many flies came into his shop because the window was open.
Bir sabah, pencere açık olduğu için dükkânına çok sayıda sinek girdi.
Hans hit the table hard and killed seven flies at one time.
Hans masaya sert vurdu ve bir seferde yedi sineği öldürdü.
He was so proud that he sewed a belt and wrote on it: "Seven at one blow!"
O kadar gururlandı ki bir kemer dikti ve üzerine şunu yazdı: "Bir vuruşta yedi!"
The next day, Hans put on the belt and started his journey through the kingdom.
Ertesi gün Hans kemeri taktı ve krallık boyunca yolculuğuna başladı.
When the king's soldiers saw the belt, they ran to the king immediately.
Kral'ın askerleri kemeri görünce hemen krala koştular.
A soldier said: "Your Majesty, there is a man who can kill seven at one blow!"
Bir asker şunu söyledi: "Majesteleri, bir vuruşta yedi öldürebilen bir adam var!"
The king heard this and called Hans to his palace at once.
Kral bunu duydu ve Hans'ı hemen sarayına çağırdı.
The king said: "I have a challenge for you — defeat the two giants in the forest!"
Kral şunu söyledi: "Senin için bir meydan okumam var — ormandaki iki devi yen!"
The king also announced: "If you win, I will give you a great reward."
Kral ayrıca şunu ilan etti: "Kazanırsan sana büyük bir ödül vereceğim."
Hans was not scared because he had a clever plan in his mind.
Hans korkmadı çünkü aklında zekice bir plan vardı.
He went into the dark forest alone and found the two sleeping giants under a tree.
Ormana yalnız girdi ve iki uyuyan devi bir ağacın altında buldu.
The giants were much bigger than Hans, but Hans did not run away.
Devler Hans'tan çok daha büyüktü, ama Hans kaçmadı.
He climbed the tree and threw small stones at the first giant's nose.
Ağaca tırmandı ve birinci devin burnuna küçük taşlar fırlattı.
The first giant woke up and said angrily: "Stop hitting me!"
Birinci dev uyandı ve kızgınca şunu söyledi: "Bana vurmayı bırak!"
The second giant said: "I am not hitting you — stop lying!"

Then Hans threw more stones at the second giant, so the two giants began to fight.
Sonra Hans ikinci deve daha fazla taş fırlattı, böylece iki dev kavgaya başladı.
After a long fight, the two tired giants fell to the ground and could not get up.

Hans came down from the tree and looked at them with a big smile.

He went back to the palace and said: "I defeated both giants in the forest!"

The king's soldiers went to the forest and saw that the giants were defeated.
Kral'ın askerleri ormana gittiler ve devlerin yenildiğini gördüler.
The king was very surprised because the tailor was much smaller than the giants.
Kral çok şaşırdı çünkü terzi devlerden çok daha küçüktü.
The king asked: "How did you defeat the most dangerous giants in the kingdom?"
Kral şunu sordu: "Krallığın en tehlikeli devlerini nasıl yendin?"
Hans answered with a smile: "Cleverness is stronger than size, Your Majesty."
Hans gülümseyerek şunu yanıtladı: "Zekâ, büyüklükten daha güçlüdür, Majesteleri."
The king laughed and said: "You are braver than all my soldiers!"
Kral güldü ve şunu söyledi: "Tüm askerlerimden daha cesursun!"
Before the sun went down, the king gave Hans the greatest reward in the land.
Güneş batmadan önce kral, Hans'a ülkedeki en büyük ödülü verdi.
Hans married the princess and they lived happily in the palace together.
Hans prensesle evlendi ve birlikte sarayda mutlu yaşadılar.
The little tailor never forgot his old belt because it changed his whole life.

People in the kingdom still talk about the brave little tailor today.
