Gerda and Kai were best friends, and they lived next to each other in a small town.
Gerda ve Kai en iyi arkadaşlardı ve küçük bir kasabada yan yana yaşıyorlardı.
Every day, they were playing together in the garden, which was full of colorful flowers and tall trees.
Her gün, renkli çiçekler ve yüksek ağaçlarla dolu olan bahçede birlikte oynuyorlardı.
Kai was a kind and curious boy, although he sometimes asked too many questions.

While the sleigh was disappearing into the cold sky, Gerda was watching from the window with tears in her eyes.

She thought about Kai all night and decided that she must go and find him.

Although Gerda wanted to continue, she accepted the woman's offer and felt stronger after resting.

Gerda also met a young reindeer in the forest, who was running fast through the deep snow.

Gerda found Kai sitting alone in a large frozen room, trying to make words with pieces of ice.

His eyes were empty and he could not remember Gerda at all, because the magic shard was still in his eye.

"Kai, it's me! Don't you remember our garden and our games?" she cried, and she hugged him tightly.

Gerda's warm tears fell on Kai's face and slowly melted the cold shard inside his eye.

As soon as the shard disappeared, Kai looked at Gerda and began to cry too.
